Privacy
The game keeps what you do in your own browser. There is no account, and nothing you do in the game is sent anywhere.
What is kept, and where
- Your careers
- The career in play and any save slots are kept in this browser's own storage, on this device. There is no account, and no copy on a server.
- Your profile
- The coach's name, username, favourite club and picture you set on the profile screen are kept in this browser's storage. A picture you choose is never uploaded.
- Settings
- The theme, the ground paint switch, whether you have taken the walkthrough, the tabs you have open and the moments from your career that replay on the startup screen are kept in this browser's storage.
- Your own graphics
- If you load a graphics pack, its files are kept in this browser's storage and go nowhere else.
- The game itself
- After the first visit the browser keeps a copy of the game's files so it can open without a connection.
What leaves your device
- Fetching the site. Everything this site shows you comes from its own address: the game, the typefaces, the photographs and these pages. It asks no other company's server for anything. Like any website, the company that hosts these files can see the request for them: your internet address and the kind of browser you use. The game sends nothing back.
- Links you follow. The credits link to Wikimedia Commons and Creative Commons. Those sites only hear from you if you follow a link.
Nothing else leaves the device. There is no analytics, no advertising and no tracking of any kind. There are no cookies: the browser storage described above is all the site uses.
Exports
Export writes a career to a file that downloads to your device. It goes wherever you choose to put it and nowhere else.
Removing it
Save slots can be deleted in the game, under Save & Options. To remove everything at once (careers, slots, profile, picture, settings and the stored copy of the game), clear this site's data in your browser: in most browsers that is under Settings, then Privacy, then site data or website data, then this site's name. Because the data is only in your browser, clearing it cannot be undone and nobody else holds a copy.
If this changes
Online play is coming: accounts, cloud saves, friends and leagues. When it arrives, this page will say what is kept and where before any of it is switched on.
The one way this site learns anything about you is if you choose to email one of the addresses below: your message and your address then arrive in an ordinary mailbox, like any email.
