Magnet Board
An Australian football management game. Take the top job at one of the 18 clubs with the real 2026 lists. Pick the 23, set the game plan, coach from the box in a live 2D match, and run the list through trade week and draft night.
What it is
Magnet Board is an Australian football management game. It is made by one footy fan, for himself and his mates, and it runs in a browser on a phone or a laptop.
The idea the whole thing comes from is the magnet board: the coach's whiteboard, with a magnet for every player.
The game is in early access. It is playable from the first bounce to draft night, it is still being built, and some things will break. When one does, help@magnetboard.com.au is the place to say so.
What is in the game
A career
Real 2026 lists or generated players, 18 clubs, a 24-round season with finals, and an off-season of review, list lodgement, trade period, deadline day and National Draft.
Match day
A match played out on a real-size oval and replayed live on a 2D ground, with commentary, four speeds, key moments, the coach's box and team talks at the breaks.
Between the games
The magnet board for selection, game plans, training, a reserves side, squad dynamics, contracts, a broadcast draft night, facilities and sponsors, a football department, and the coach's own reputation, contract and job market.
The world around it
A weekly paper with a press conference and six tipsters, Brownlow night, the All-Australian side, Grand Final week, themed rounds, State of Origin every pre-season, Goal and Mark of the Year, an almanac of honours and records, and a ringing phone.
Yours to keep
Careers save in your browser as you play, with save slots and a file you can export and import. There is no account to make.
Light and dark
Two themes, and a layout for a phone as well as a desktop. After the first visit the game opens without a connection.
What is real and what is made up
- The clubs, players and coaches carry real names.
- Every rating, personality, form line, injury, result, record, quote, rumour, press answer, award and statistic comes from the simulation and says nothing about the real people or real football history.
- The paper, its journalists and tipsters, the callers on the phone, the sponsors, the performers and their songs, the crowd figures and the parade colour are invented.
- The rivalry medals and cups are real honours. Who wins them here is decided by the simulation.
- The famous plays on the startup screen are recreations of real passages, drawn from match reports, with approximate positions.
- Magnet Board is a fan project. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the league or any club.
