Who wins 2027?

We played the 2027 season 1,000 times in Magnet Board's match engine. Every season starts from the real lists after the 2026 trade period, then plays the draft, the pre-season, all 24 rounds and the finals. Brisbane Lions won the flag in 25% of them, about 1 in 4. Fremantle were next, with 17%.

The flag, the four and the finals

Each club's share of the 1,000 seasons. The strip is where it finished on the ladder, 1st on the left to 18th on the right, darker where it finished more often; the mark is the line for finals. The most common Grand Final is Brisbane Lions against Fremantle, in 10% of seasons.

How it was worked out

Each season is a full Magnet Board career fast-forwarded: the same match engine you coach in, with every player's rating, contract and form as the game has them. The draft is made by the clubs' recruiters in the game, so it plays out differently every time, and so do injuries, form and the bounce of the ball.

Every club is coached the way the game's computer coaches do it: the best 23 each week and the game plan its list suits. Nobody trades during the season. The ratings are our judgement of each player after the 2026 season, so read these as how the game sees the lists, not as a forecast. It is for fun, not for betting.

These will move after the National Draft on 19 and 20 November, and again when the pre-season starts. Worked out on 19 October 2026.
